Every year, 5th September is commemorated as Teacher’s Day in India in honour of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the first Vice President of India and the Second President of India. Dr. Radhakrishnan, an eminent scholar and educationist at heart was a great teacher and a staunch believer of education, known for his contribution towards the education system of India.

This Teacher’s Day 2020 we acknowledge the efforts of Mr. Pratap Das who has dedicated his life towards brightening the future of children in Kantabania, a small village in Jajpur District of Odisha. Aveti Learning celebrates one of the finest teacher who is an inspiration to many and dedicated his life to teaching rural kids in Odisha. The task of teaching children and giving them wings of hope is not only a noble task but also a daunting one, considering the limited resources at hand.

Ray of Hope

Pratap Das’s learning center i-Brain is the stepping stone for hundreds of aspiring kids who hope for a brighter future. Both Pratap and Sarita Devi are doting teachers and give individual attention to all the children who join i-Brain which has been specialising in training the children for admission into the prestigious Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya.

i-Brain provides coaching for the prestigious Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya where students get sponsored education upto Std 10

In 2013, it was a big challenge to set up a center out of scratch, but over the years brick by brick the learning center has emerged as a pioneering center for children in his village and surrounding areas.

Das conceptualised i-Brain as a modern tutoring center to provide the best education to village kids and prepare them for competitive examinations. That’s how Pratap got associated with Aveti Learning back in the formative years. Ever since, the students have been using the assessments designed by Aveti which is a primary learning tool.

Beating the Odds

Aveti Learning salutes the spirit of Pratap Das whose life is a story of grit, determination and bouncing back. A fateful accident in 2011 was a turning point in Pratap’s life course and set him back, though temporarily. That’s when he decided to get back to his village Kantabania and dedicate himself for educating children.

When COVID-19 struck in early 2020, all schools and learning centers were ordered to shut down. It’s not surprising now during the Covid crisis that everyone is talking about digital learning and adopted various online learning methods. For students of i-Brain, this is not something new, for they have already been learning on tablets! The student usage and exercise reports have been super handy in guiding the students.

In 2014 Pratap Das partnered with Aveti Learning (earlier known as Shikhya) for digital learning for students at i-Brain

Early Adopter

A trained Engineer, Pratap is an author and innovator has always tried to adopt new techniques and learning methods for students of i-Brain. In his early career days, Pratap had developed a interactive module for quick and easy learning for students. In i-Brain he wanted to give the best for his students. That’s how Pratap got in touch with Biswajit and adopted Aveti Lessons in his Center in 2014.

It would not be an overstatement if we say that students at i-Brain were the first adopters of tablet based learning in Rural Odisha. Learning on computers with the latest analytics and modern techniques is one that is a unique experience for children and made possible because of Pratap’s conviction in the methods and his constant effort to teach the best for the students.

Salute

Aveti Learning salutes and celebrates teachers like Pratap Das who is the epitome of selfless service and inspiration for many. It is due to Pratap’s efforts that nearly 50 students have already got admission into the prestigious Navodaya Vidyalaya and Adarsha Vidyalayas, thus ensuring high quality and sponsored education for a lifetime.

At Aveti Learning, thousands of children log into the Live Classes everyday for interactive lessons and Sunday Guest Lectures. The thousands of response submitted from all over Odisha is evidence of the tremendous talent and creativity of the students. We salute the dedication and efforts of teachers like Pratap Das who have been supporting and guiding students

We look forward to partnering with thousands more such noble teachers who can transform learning experience for children in the rural pockets around the world.

Thank you!
